Don't you love birthday parties? Well, here's one you can really appreciate. In celebration of its 125th anniversary, Smythson of Bond Street has made over its website, Facebook, and Youtube channel, and is launching a series of super-creative films, the first of which feature the It Brit brand's two latest handbag styles: The Eliot and the Grosvenor. The videos, directed by a group of acclaimed international artists are an homage to the iconic label's past and a toast to its future. The debut flicks come courtesy of Matthew Donaldson, a London-born photographer, who took a unique (and mesmerizing) approach to show off the covetable arm-candy.

In An Icon Unveiled, the Eliot collection tote bag is revealed by a reverse motion action of what seems to be a major white-paint spill. Okay, sure, we practically gasped upon seeing the Taureau leather covered in paint, but all things are acceptable in the name of art and handbags, right? As the video progresses and the paint is slurped away, you're able to really examine the fine details of the bag, including zipper pockets and shagreen hardware.
In the second video, Through the Looking Glass, we're taken on a dizzying whirlwind tour of the dazzling red shoulder bag that is the Grosvenor. Water rushes out from a spinning mirrored box to unveil the calf leather bag, complete with adjustable shoulder strap and gold brass hardware. While the deep-suede lining perfect for the workplace, it might not be so appropriate for a flood.
Check out the videos below and prepare to be mesmerized by the luxury goods — before and after their unconventional makeovers.
