60 Seconds With Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet

The petite, always well-heeled Stacey Bendet was rushing at a mile-a-minute at her Alice + Olivia fall '11 show at the jazz-inspired burlesque presentation at the Plaza yesterday (for more deets, check out our coverage), but the mother-to-be stopped to talk pregnancy, burlesque and jazz. Not only is Bendet due in seven weeks (!!) but the married designer was also looking forward to a romantic V-Day with hubby Eric Eisner. Whew! If that isn't enough, she rocked the whole show wearing her very own platform wedges. Color us impressed.

"What are you going to do after the show ends to celebrate?"

"It's Valentine's Day! My husband and I are going to go up to a hotel to get massages and chill out. When you are seven months pregnant, you aren't really going out to the clubs to party."

"Do you know if it's a girl or boy?"

"Girl! But, I don't like to say the name until she is born."

"What color are you not able to live without these days?"

"Black! But I'm pregnant, so it seems to be the best for me."

"What song do you like to listen to pre-show to get you pumped?"

"We've been listening to a whole mix of cool jazz music to get ready for this. A little Miles Davis. Lots of chill music."

"Who is more of an Alice +Olivia girl: Eloise or Madeline?"
"Well, my Eloise is the ultimate Alice + Olivia girl. She is so girly and loves clothes already."
"What are you currently excited about for A+O?"
"We are focused on our own shoes right now, so we aren't really doing any collaborations, but just watching the footwear come into its own."

"Complete this sentence: Every New York gal should not be without _____.

"A burlesque dancer!"
