Not too long ago, we interviewed Mario Dedivanovic, the celebrity makeup artist renowned for giving Kim Kardashian her signature look. Obviously, said look involves a whole lot of contouring, using carefully selected colors to shade and illuminate her best features. This has now become something of a Kardashian family signature, with all the K-names favoring definition on the cheekbones, nose, jawline, and even the body (yes, you can contour cleavage).
Naturally, the sculpting addiction has also reached young Kylie Jenner, who’s apparently something of a budding beauty expert. Anastasia Soare, the founder of Anastasia Beverly Hills, gave the reality star her multi-pan Contour Kit, and tells us Kylie uses it daily. (Kylie actually just popped into her salon for a restock.) “She uses Fawn and Havana to contour, and Banana and Vanilla to highlight,” Soare says. As it happens, Dedivanovic named the palette one of his go-to products. “You can experiment with the lighter shades at first and then build to the deeper ones once you’re comfortable,” he said.

Unsurprisingly, the Kardashians aren't the only fans of this kit: When it launched on Sephora.com in April, 10,000 units sold out in just one-and-a-half hours. As a result of customer feedback, the brand has even created 27 more shade variations to suit a diverse range of skin tones. And, we can tell you from personal experience that this product truly is wonderful: finely-milled, shimmery highlights and easy-to-use, blendable powders that go barely detected on the skin.
What else would you expect, really? After all, if we’re going to take any contouring advice, it might as well be from the sisters who made it a phenomenon.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, $40, available at Anastasia Beverly Hills.
