Photo Diary: Behind The Scenes At Milan Fashion Week

Stationed in Milan, photographer Tamu McPherson of All The Pretty Birds is our eagle-eyed street style chronicler across the sea. We asked her to send us a dispatch from the Fashion Week festivities taking place on her home turf, and as expected, there's enough belle donne in there to rival Manhattan during NYFW. Click through for front-row pics, street style images, and other camera-worthy snaps.

Above: "Covering back stage at Versace was definitely the highlight of fashion week. It makes a huge difference when you are able to see the garments up close. I was surprised to see how well everyone involved handled the pressure. Donatella was calm and gracious. It was really lovely to witness the look of satisfaction on her face at the end of the show. The collection is sleek and detail rich, I couldn't take my eyes of the cut outs, hardware and fringes."

Above: "Albino D'Amato is one of my favorite emerging Italian designers. So it goes to say that I could not miss his show. This season's collection was a play on silhouette that alternated between trapezoidal and pencil slim shapes. The fabrics ranged from textiles customarily used for outwear to crêpe jacquards, and the prints are inspired from stained glass windows. There were definitely a couple pieces that I almost snatched off the models."
