"I wanted to create my own little world," said designer Scott Sternberg of the presentation behind Band of Outsiders/Boy f/w collection. Vintage telephone booths and classrooms were a few of the dreamy spaces that recalled mini-movie sets and housed the models in a collection inspired by Godard's La Chinoise. Selections from the scores from Magnolia, The Ice Storm, and Little Children provided a cinematic soundtrack, while we were swept away by the sophisticated, modernized classic school-kid clothes, and zeroed in on Boy's Manolo Blahnik collaboration, described by Sternberg as "Chuck Taylors on stilettos." Spotting Kanye West in the crowd, we asked, what he would like to see in menswear for 2009? "I'd like to see some white collars," he said, thoughtfully, and quickly added, "I don't want to give away too many ideas. I'd just like to do it myself." Sternberg, however, filled us in. "Kanye's on my cell phone every other day. It's hilarious."
