And the hits just keep on coming. The pre-fall releases are starting to feel like some sort of marathon virtual fashion week. Not that we mind—there's something quite relaxing about sitting back, refreshing WWD, and breezing through these looks by Givenchy, Chloé, Sonia Rykiel, Doo.Ri, and Maison Martin Margiela. Enjoy
Sonia Rykiel: (Above) Rykiel is usually only au currant when she forgets her more restrained sensibilities. That's why it's so unusual to see such an of-the-moment collection from the French Grande Dame that is nonetheless tasteful and elegant. Loving the fuchsia plaid there!

Chloé: What woman wouldn't want to look like this? Loose, comfortable, darling, but not too sweet, these cool and natural-toned looks recall New Zealand country looks, Parisian filles, and Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation—that is to say, the perfect girlfriend.

Doo Ri: Eveningwear with a lovely twist, Doo Ri Chung's pre-fall collection is rife with velvety fabrics, quiet glimmering palettes, and frilled edges that don't come off cutesy. It's a very mature and mainstream collection that errs on the side of the taste, but is nonetheless classically beautiful.

Maison Martin Margiela:The master of the minimalist avant-garde is playing it safe this half season, but remains one of our faves. Over-draped and lush, we're especially turned on by his use of reds and his nude-fabric breasts. Sign us up.

Givenchy: An exercise in French-style luxury that doesn't dip into the bad taste we've often seen from the label, the coats and blouses of Givnechy's pre-fall offerings bring an edge to baby-doll ruching and gothy furs. A vivid, striped jacket was a memorable stunner.
