A Swedish film about the relationship between two teenage equestrian acrobats won the $25,000 prize for best narrative feature at the Tribeca Film Festival. Directed by Lisa Aschan, She Monkeys received glowing praise from the jury, which called the film "haunting, resonant, but never posed. With balanced storytelling that moves between danger and innocence, this film speaks of sex, adolescence, power, and ambition.” Other winners included Alma Har'el's Bombay Beach, which won the best documentary prize for its depiction of a ghost town set in the desert by California's Salton Sea. This year, the jury included actors Paul Dano, Whoopi Goldberg, Zoe Kravitz and Michael Cera. More than 5,000 films were submitted, including 93 feature films, 41 documentaries and 52 narrative fiction films.
