Aimee Blaut is the beauty blogger behind the awesome site The Formula blog and its corresponding Twitter account.
Although I run a beauty blog, people often mistakenly assume that I'm a fashion blogger. Before I have the chance to correct them ("No no, BEAUTY blogger!"), I'll often end up fielding a slew of questions about my personal style. I have since developed a very precise answer: “I button up all the way to the top, but still like to keep it sexy.”

Ellison is an Australian clothing label by my friend Felicity Ellison — we call her “Flic” for short — which I just adore. Her latest collection drew inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock films, and every piece is named after an iconic character (hence Lila, played by Vera Miles in Psycho, is the garment’s namesake).
Lila is a long-sleeved, sheer black button-up shirt with a rounded, Peter Pan-esque collar, and subtle pleating detail in the back. Needless to say, when Flic arrived in New York from Melbourne bearing a few little gifts in tow, I changed into it immediately. I'm a sucker for a Peter Pan collar, and I live in black, so it was basically love at first sight.
The top is also made of silk and is fairly wrinkle-resistant. Since I will be jetting between Iceland, Paris, Stockholm, and London this summer, I die for clothes that travel well.
It’s also versatile. It looks just as great tucked into a high-waisted skirt as it does flowing loose over a tapered pant. I am so on-the-go these days between shoots and meetings that finding great, transitional pieces like this is such a treat.
