We realize we’re not alone in professing our design-geek obsession for Heath Ceramics’ sleek, handcrafted tablewares. A dinner-party staple for over sixty years, it brings the best and brightest potters into its showrooms and stores and is always ahead of the pottery pack. So, clearly we were thrilled when we heard Heath was opening up another shop in the Bay — this time in S.F.
To celebrate the new digs, Heath will be showing the work of yet another ceramic sage, Akio Nukaga. The renowned Japanese artist will be displaying his fresh exhibit, titled “Very New Work.” While the event will be Heath’s first gallery showing, the reception is, and we quote, “all about Akio.” Also, don’t forget to bring an appetite, as beer, wine, and a delicious array of treats will be served.

Throwing Demonstration, Sunday, July 15, 2 p.m.
