Trust Us, You Won’t Want To Miss This Fancy Pants Trunk Show!

Ever since we said sayonara to summer temps, it's been a never-ending debate on what to wear. We've become so accustomed to defaulting to dresses and denim, that when fall hits we're left a little lost. Enter: The trouser. Worn right, it can be any gal's newfound BFF. But a lot of times the formal fit can lead to jokes about board meetings and conference calls — a big faux pas in the fashion department.
Thankfully, there's a solution to the woes of slacks, and his name is Alvin Valley. The "King of Pants" has been positioned for a comeback (the NY Times even vouches for him), and will be celebrating with his first-ever L.A. trunk show on Friday. The designer, who counts Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Cameron Diaz as fans, will be on hand to discuss his classic styles along with Claiborne Swanson Frank, Minnie Mortimer Gaghan, Alexandra Von Furstenberg, and many others. Between the over-sized flares and cummerbund-inspired waists, this event is just the kick in the pants your autumn wardrobe needs!

When: Friday, November 2, noon to 3 p.m.

Where: G+ Gulla Jonsdottir Design, 633 North La Peer Drive (between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue); 310-275-1401.
