Just a little over a year ago, we were excited to hear that writer and all-around style expert Amanda Brooks was hired as Vice President and Women's Fashion Director of Barneys New York — which is pretty much a dream job right up there with becoming the next Anna Wintour. However, Brooks has decided to leave her (presumably high-pressure) post behind and relocate to England with her family, "in the interest of further pursuing other opportunities." Although we're sad to see her go before she could fully inject her creative vision into those storied Madison Avenue walls, we're also pretty curious as to what these "other opportunities" could be that would make her leave Barneys after just a year — fingers crossed that there was no unfortunate drama à la Stefano Pilati and YSL. And, although WWD reports that Barneys isn't looking to fill her position immediately, we're going to go ahead and throw our hats into the ring for Simon Doonan...again. Just sayin'. (Style.com, WWD)
