Our eyes go first to the canary silk georgette dress, but the key to adoring designer Araks Yeramyan's pieces is to just shut up and look closely. Her inspiration in this collection, French clowns from the early days of mime Marcel Marceau, and the ethereal impressionist images you might imagine in a 19-century circus gallery show, made for some surprising details of whimsy. Tiered collars, pompons, pleats, and mostly neutral colors with splashes of tomato red and a jewel-tone plum connected her thoughtful separates. Though we constantly crave more of her signature pristine lingerie, the fall collection was a pleasant surprise and definitely purchase-worthy.
