Lauren Carson

Lauren Carson graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Virginia. Lauren recently relocated from Brooklyn, NY back to her hometown of Atlanta, GA. In 2012, Lauren founded Black Girls Smile Inc. based on her personal mental health journey’s struggle to find racially sensitive treatment and support. Lauren is currently a contributing Blogger for the Huffington Post, regularly volunteers at Children of Bellevue, serves on the New York Women’s Foundation’s Grants Advisory Committee, and was selected for the Gillibrand Women’s Mentoring Initiative. Additionally Lauren is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
