It goes without saying that José Andrés is a force to be reckoned with in D.C. — after all, he's the brains behind some of our favorite meals at Jaleo, Zaytinya, and Oyamel. Add the once-in-a-lifetime Minibar experience and a friendship with Gwyneth to the list, and it's clear why Andrés is considered the whole package. For the past several weeks, the superstar chef has been teasing us with a Twitter hashtag, #josehasasecret, and he’s finally coming clean: His experimental cocktail lab, Barmini, is set to open on Friday.
The cocktail lab is connected to Minibar and will feature over 100 unique drinks with a molecular gastronomy twist, plus a menu of bar snacks. You can make a reservation daily between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. by phone (202-393-4451) or via email. Until you can snag a seat, check out the promo video below, and take Andrés' words to heart: “You can eat to live, but you can drink to survive.” (Eater)
