We have more restaurant news for you, because we know how much you love a new grub joint. Blue Collar, a cozy comfort food spot located on a storefront of the MiMo District’s Biscayne Inn Motel, opened this week right down the street from Michy’s and Balans.
Before venturing off on his own, chef and owner Daniel Serfer worked at Chef Allen’s in Aventura, 15th Street Fisheries in Ft. Lauderdale, and was an executive chef at the Tribeca Grand's resto in New York City. He then decided to go off on his own, and opened a much more intimate “where everybody knows your name” kind of place; the restaurant only seats 20 people inside, and 18 outside. At Blue Collar, expect to try New Orleans-style shrimp and grits, year-round Chanukah Latkes in homemade applesauce, and mouthwatering smokey bacon and sausage pork and beans with a fried egg on top — it’s Serfer’s fave dish and will probably be yours, too, very soon.
When: Mondays-Sundays, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m
Where: 6730 Biscayne Boulevard; 305-756-0366.
