Montreal duo Blue Hawaii usually stays true to its name, mixing crystalline choruses with tropical-leaning beats. Clouds' new "Rennuredalb" remix of album standout "In Two," however, colors the duo with a darker pallor.

While the original was all whispey vocals and entropic melodies, Clouds reimagine the formula by adding a syncopated beat and gloomy synths. Even Raph Standell-Preston's usually airy singing gains an icy pallor, taking things from summer sun to winter chill. Considering there's still snow on the ground in much of the country, it's a timely reinterpretation. Check out both the original track and the premiere of the "Clouds Rennuredalb Mix" below, as well as upcoming tour dates for the band with like-minded synth-poppers, Purity Ring. Blue Hawaii's debut LP, Untogether, is out March 5 via Arbutus Records.
