Sparks Will Fly (Literally!) At This 4th Of July Rooftop Bash

Here at R29, we're huge fans of the July 4 — not only do we get to play hooky from work, mid-week, but the holiday is a great excuse pick out the perfect patriot 'fit, and, well, get drunk outdoors. While the typical backyard BBQ has served us well in the past, this year, it's time to take it up a notch.

Maybe it's the Olympics on the horizon, or maybe it's just the abundance of monuments in the town, but we're feeling a lot more American these days. Luckily, the W hotel is hosting (for the third year in a row) the epic Boom With a View party, on its awe-inspiring rooftop lounge, POV.

The bash boasts the best view of the fireworks in the city (the lounge overlooks the National Mall), along with cocktails, themed apps, and a performance by Burnt Sienna, one of the District's top cover bands. Tickets are $75, but private tables are available for those looking to take the nation's birthday to the next level — sure beats honoring the stars and stripes in your backyard.
