This Is The BEST Thing The ’80s Ever Gave YouTube

We thought we knew the definition of fabulous. Then, we discovered Brenda Dickson. The former daytime television star of The Young And The Restless is no new kid on the home-and-style block. In 1987, she made a video entitled "Welcome To My Home," in which she invites fans inside her glitzed-out abode and imparts her vast (and awkward) wisdom on style, decorating, and makeup. We'll skip the ostrich feathers and teleportation, but we're definitely planning to copy Dickson's gold-accented living room. And we might just have to steal her closet tips, too — including lucite drawers (for when you need to match an accessory in a hurry, of course) and color-coded closet organization. Watch the video below and remember: "Fashion is something that can be acquired, and you too, be it male or female, can be very fashionable," according to Dickson. But, you probably won't have a red silk kimono as grand as hers.
