This Man Wants To Build A 300-Mile Wall To Keep Burners Away

During the week of Burning Man, San Francisco transforms into a quiet oasis as people flock from the Bay Area to the Nevada desert for the weeklong celebration of music, art, and environmental preservation. Suddenly, hard-to-get-into restaurants here are easily accessible, and beaches and parks are virtually empty. So it’s easy to see why someone would want to keep it that way for good by putting up a really gigantic wall. According to the video on Megagogo, the proposed 300-mile structure would extend all the way from Point Reyes to Santa Cruz and would be built by a community of volunteers — it just needs a cool $7.3 billion to bring it to fruition (apparently, $2 billion of that has already been raised). Sound too good to be true? Well, that’s because it is. While the entire campaign — posted by Cultivate Wit — may have been suggested in jest, you can still enjoy a good laugh at the video above. Until then, we'll just have to dream of a Burner-less city.
