L.A.-based designer Vincent Flumiani has decided to inject a little literary high-brow mentality into his brand-spanking-new line, Caufield Preparatory. Drawing on lofty inspiration, the collections are loosely based on a Holden Caufield-like character (Finnigan Nash Sinclair) and his one-man road trip from Los Angeles to New York. This little backstory makes for some great images of our protagonist in his preppy roadside wares. Flumiani has a knack for the mixing the perfect blend of East Coast collegiate-inspired pieces (structured, slim-fitting blazers and three-piece suits, chunky knits, a gorgeous peacoat) and West Coast casual (light weight tees and henleys, paper-thin short-sleeved polos). These divine lookbook snaps are making us crave a re-visit to some of our favorite scholarly classics for fashion inspiration. Available at Bloomingdales, Odin, American Rag, and Revolve Clothing this August.
