Iconic Fillmore Street eatery The Elite Cafe is celebrating 30 years in business with a prix-fixe menu focused on its classic, New Orleans-inspired eats. Now until August 13th, diners can nosh on a $30 three-course meal consisting of some of the cafe's most renowned dishes, including choices like the shrimp and scallion johnnycakes with a roasted red pepper relish and lime cream, California seafood gumbo, red wine-braised brisket with spring onion green grits and braised greens and fried okra, and those to-die-for house-made biscuits. To top it all off, there are sweet treats like beignets with triple espresso bean ice cream and fudge sauce, bananas foster, pecan pie, and more! For an additional $30 more, you can pair it all with wine and cocktails. And, while you're there, don't forget to check out a new set of private wooden booths for parties of two, which the restaurant has given itself as a little birthday gift.
