The hallmark of a great runway beauty look is that it catches your eye without detracting from the first-class clothes making their way down the catwalk. Not many makeup artists can rival Peter Philips, Chanel's creative director of makeup, in this art form. He has a way of crafting gorgeously dramatic makeup looks that accentuate Karl Lagerfeld's fashion vision without ever feeling like a distraction.
This year's Métiers D'Art was no exception: Lagerfeld's Paris-Bombay transported us to a very glamourous India and Philips followed with the smokiest of eyes paired with fresh faces. And also, dreadlocks! The Coveteur went backstage with the brains behind the Chanel beauty braun, and got the scoop on all the amazing looks, the new collection, and topped it all off with some adorable snaps of all our favorite models primped up and gemmed out with killer headgear. Talk about swoon-worthy eye candy — we could barely get our eyes off the page long enough to write this story! (The Coveteur)
