We wanted the skinny on Chicago's hottest hair trend for summer (if the weather isn't ready, at least our hair can be). We scored some time with Leslie Shores, colorist at Maxine Salon. Leslie revealed that rose gold is the color of the moment for Chi-Town's lovely locks, and she's prepped and ready to work her magic on you, too! "It's been a hot trend in jewelry for awhile, and it's definitely becoming a trend in hair color as well." So, how do we master this look? "Ask your colorist to spice up your color by alternating a golden blonde with a light strawberry-red highlight." Balayage will achieve this, for sure. "The color will be way more natural and now." If you're up for a root-to-tip change, "Go with a rose gold base color and add in some blonde balayage to make the color really shimmer." As always, follow up with mane maintenance. Leslie recommends Huile Celeste by Kerastase, to protect your new 'do from UVA and UVB rays you'll catch all season. We're thrilled about these new hue heights to achieve this summer.
