Throwing its hat into the bespoke men's clothing ring, Cloak is creating an even savvier alternative to the "made-to-measure" madness sweeping men's clothiers. Offering shirts, suits, and overcoats, Cloak brings an
intimate dialogue to the tailoring experience over a series of fittings with tailor Alexendre Plokhov. This exacting process creates inimitable results and also allows the lucky patron to enter a realm previously only inhabited by brides-to-be and debutantes. The prices are prohibitive (suits start at $3,500, a suite of three shirts from $1,100, and an overcoat begins at $2,700) but rest assured, the results are exquisite. From the raw muslin used to craft a shirt to the pick-stich of the suit's lapels and hand-finished buttonholes, no detail is overlooked. It goes without saying that no self respecting man-about-town will dare be seen in off-the-rack now that Cloak Bespoke is up for grabs.
Cloak is located at 10 Greene Street, 917-661-1216.
Cloak is already a regular SoHo stop for fellas like Beck and Ethan Hawke. But now that designer Alexandre Plokhov has added bespoke tailoring to his roster of sartorial services, the label is set to become a perfect fit for a whole new audience of aficionados.
