But, photographer Luca Zanier's latest project, aptly titled "Corridors of Power," gives us a glimpse inside. The images capture the graphic interiors of major state and corporate conference rooms around the world.
The striking arrangements (and colors!) will smash any previous notions that conference quarters are nothing more than drab gray, long tables, and swivel chairs. Luca found meeting places in New York and Switzerland where design details abound — think wild, blue lighting, Guggenheim-esque architecture, and pink, textured walls. Even the Fédération Internationale de Football Association in Zurich looks more like a Star Trek set than a spot where headers and balls are discussed. Even so, the sheer vastness of the halls gives a sense of the weight of decisions that are made there, which is a larger point of series. And, while our tough calls at R29 HQ are more of skinny-vs-wide-legged jean sort than anything pertaining to world peace, we can still appreciate the impact of rows on rows of Kelly green seating.
