What were your first pair of jeans?
"I’m pretty sure it was a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans and a pair of Cross Colors denim overalls. I loved both and wore them frequently in high school. I got them when I was about 14 years old — a mix of sexy and skinny and loose and comfy."
What are you wearing?
First Look: "A light-blue denim strapless catsuit by Topshop, a rose necklace by Make Believe, and an African head wrap by Youmewe.
Second Look: "A light-blue vintage denim top I picked up at Guerrisol in Paris and black jeans from Topshop.
Third Look: "A black tank-top by H&M, a blue denim short-sleeve shirt I picked up at a sample sale, African-inspired harem pants by Love And Be Loved By Amin Phillips, vintage black pointed sneakers, and Ambiguous Jewelry Designs by Karen Jackson earrings.
How many pairs of jeans do you own?
"I own about 15 pairs of an eclectic mix of jeans purchased all over the world."
Do you have a preferred philosophy when it comes to jeans: Sexy and skinny, or loose and comfy?
"A little mix of both suits me just fine. The sexy and skinny has to hug me in all the right places, and the loose and comfy allows me to traipse around the city."
Used or new?
"Used."
What's your favorite way to wear your jeans and with what?
"I love mixing my jeans with African prints and color. I love the way they pop."
If your jeans had a name or theme song, what would it be? Or do they?
"'In Those Jeans' by Ginuwine...( I used to have the biggest crush on that guy..until I found out his first name was Elgin...jk LOL!)."
Favorite example of celebrity-jean wearing (i.e., Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA album cover).
"Donna Summer wearing that awesome jean jacket with the popped collar."
What do you love most about your favorite denim pieces?
"That they're comfortable, stylish, and can be worn dressed up or dressed down."
