The 10 Most Repped Fashion Designers On The Red Carpet

Considering the thousands of designers around the world, you would think the gowns on display on the red carpet during awards season would be as diverse as the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Yet, much like the Games, only a certain few designers dominate, dressing way more than a small share of starlets. So, to suss out the stats, we took a look at the gowns the A-listers wore on the three most recent Golden Globes and Oscars red carpets. The results? Well, for those who love watching the preshow coverage as much as the actual events themselves, you'll probably be able to guess the brands that make up the most repped list. The order, however, is a little more difficult. Before scrolling, we challenge you to see if you'll be able to recreate the breakdown.

Making a strong showing was Armani, who dressed a whopping 15 starlets for seven awards shows since 2011. (That's at least two A-list-level ladies per event.) Then come your couturiers, including Dior and Oscar de la Renta. Of course, vampy Versace, Gucci, and McQueen are all present, while the softer, sweeter Elie Saab, Valentino, Marchesa, and Lanvin fill in the rest. Surprisingly, luxury heavy-hitters like Balenciaga, Giambattista Valli, Burberry, and Prada (each represented between one to two times) are missing and tied with less familiar brands like Proenza Schouler, Jason Wu, Emilia Wickstead, and Haider Ackermann. Interesting info, especially when it comes to setting up your red-carpet draft picks for the upcoming Oscars. (What — you don't do that?)
