Dickies Launches 1922, An Authentic Capsule Collection That’s Anything But Old

Usually associated with workmen, electricians, or skater boys, Dickies is an American brand that we've all heard of, but we don't necessarily wear. Originally introduced in 1922, the dudes at Dickies have been pumping out the same version of their original "uniform pants" for everyone from Avril Lavigne to your average Joe since before the Great Depression. In honor of the company's incredible longevity (especially commendable given that they've also survived the Great Recession), Dickies is launching a capsule collection appropriately titled "Dickies 1922" set to hit stores in July, with four all-authentic replicas of their original 1922 offerings: Two styles of both the "Uniform Pant" ($200) and the "Uniform Shirt" ($175) manufactured right here in the good 'ol USA. To make the launch even radder, the brand commissioned portraits of some of their favorite musicians wearing the duds—there's Hisham Bharoocha of Soft Circle looking pensive, a moody shot of Paul Major from Endless Boogie, plus iyaDedE snapped by Andrew Dosunmu, and Robert A.A. Lowe captured by Alessandro Zuek Simonetti.
Check out the portraits for a limited time at the Hosfelt Gallery, 531 West 36th Street (between 10th and 11th streets); 212-563-5454
