If you were hanging out at the tents during New York Fashion Week, you may have noticed Diet Pepsi cans as slender as the runway models. Unveiled just in time for New York Fashion Week, the new "skinny can" from Diet Pepsi has been causing more controversy than the ongoing Coke vs. Pepsi debate. "Our slim, attractive new can is the perfect complement to today's most stylish looks," says PepsiCo Chief Marketing Offer Jill Beraud, a sentiment that has some critics claiming pretty equals skinny. And Lynn Grefe, President and CEO of the National Eating Disorders Association, is not pleased: "It is painful that a major Fortune 500 company needs to denigrate the majority of women in this country to sell their products...Pepsi should be ashamed for declaring that skinny is to be celebrated." What do you think? Is Pepsi encouraging eating disorders, or is this all a fashionable misunderstanding? (Fashion Copious)
