Elise Øverland told us her collection was inspired by a book on the art of sushi-making. Shown as a performance-cum-catwalk show, models gave the impression of being "backstage" at a concert, randomly getting primped by makeup artists and stylists before hitting the runway. Shimmery fabrics represented luminous fish scales, metallic green hoods, and origami-like piecing on bodices stood for the flaying and animal prints, Fuck Me heels, and studs spoke of the rock that Øverland is known for and will never stray far from. Looking through the same lens, we would see dinner and a bottle of Nigori, but Elise Øverland sees fashion so served up a collection of rock-and-roll sushi.
