Last night's weather was borderline hellacious, with winds that could knock down Dakota Fanning in one second flat. But a patch of sunlight emerged at the presentation of Escada's resort '11 line, where we were pleasantly surprised to see cocktail frocks and separates that made for a marked change for the line beloved by ladies who lunch everywhere. The informal show distanced itself from the U.E.S. by holding the event at new downtown hotspot The Bunker, a gritty, subterranean space from Beatrice mastermind Matt Abramacyk. The party wasn't officially devoid of Park Avenue: sunglass designer and socialite Jennifer Creel and W Hotels Global Design Director Amanda Ross shared co-hosting duties with Vogue for a crowd that included Art Production Fund's Casey Fremont, Art Publicist Bettina Prentice, Vogue Special Events Director Anne Vincent, and stylist Ann Caruso. The collection channeled beachside ball, if such a thing exists (Monte Carlo, perhaps?), with a number of creations we could see at the Oscars. We're already salivating over that golden gown—who do you think could pull it off ?
