Craving a serious foodie fest to start your summer with a bang? Head to Del Ray's Evening Star Cafe on Saturday for a traditional Lowcountry Boil and block party, where you'll get your fill of old-fashioned Southern cooking, live music, and grown-up drinks.
Expect steaming pots filled with fresh crawfish, shrimp, andouille sausage, corn, and new potatoes, plus cornbread and cobblers made with summer fruits. Wash it all down with beers direct from Georgia's Terrapin Brewing Company. Even better? The party is gratis, items range from $4 to $10, and you can buy as many (or as few) food and drink tickets as you like. Hungry yet?
When: Saturday, June 16, from 1-5 p.m.
Where: Evening Star Cafe, 2000 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria; 703-549-5051.
