Extreme DIY! Kate Spade Hosts A Tape Party And A Crafty Must-See Exhibit

kate-spade-tape-01.jpg
We had no idea how much fun tape could be until Kate Spade held a party this week to celebrate artist Rebecca Ward's installation at the Broome Street store. Ward told us it took her three days of straight, uh, taping (and probably a gajillion cups of coffee) to create the dizzying exhibit, and trust, we believe her. To celebrate, the boutique invited die-hard do-it-yourselfers to create their own custom notebooks at the tape bar (we're not kidding) with thousands of feet of electric pink and yellow tape. We totally lost track of time and spent a good two hours masking up the adorable journals, although we didn't go to the extremes of our neighbor, who started applying strips to his clothes and face. Talk about a Tape-hole!
Check it out for yourself, the exhibit is on until July 1st.
