Eyelash curlers: Some of us swear by them, some of us... well, some of us are actually terrified of them. Can you blame us? They look like torture devices. And yet their results are so unrivaled that we decided it was time to conquer this fear and join the ranks of the wide-eyed and fresh-faced.

So, we called in makeup educator James Vincent to teach our editorial assistant Vanessa how to overcome her fear and get the lashes of her dreams. Turns out, it's not that hard, nor does it involve any of the potentially painful scenarios we were envisioning.
