We’re still lamenting the loss of the beloved news reading tool, Google Reader — R.I.P. — and have really been on the hunt to find one to fill its place since. Big shoes! So, our ears are perking up over rumors of a fancy-new Flipboard-style iteration launching this month that may just change the way we digest our digital 411.
According to Re/Code, the new app is brought to us by the news feed team over at Facebook (no surprise there), and will aggregate a mix of stories from top publications integrated with Facebook users’ status updates — all in one place in either a stand-alone or mobile app. Talks about Paper (as the product is supposedly called) launching as early as this month after years of work and speculation are looking pretty solid. Facebook hasn't confirmed the date yet, so our fingers are still tightly crossed.
