Trendspotting: Layering Turtlenecks Are A Must-Have Fall Item

Designers are taking different approaches toward its execution, but everyone can agree that seasonless dressing will be a big trend for fall 2010. One method we've been seeing all over the runways is layering a turtleneck under your outfit. Not being ones to relegate ourselves to pants once the mercury dips below forty degrees, we are already big fans of wearing our dresses and miniskirts over long-sleeved shirts all through the winter. We recommend sticking to relatively thin fabrics, like sheer knits or jersey, and pairing your turtleneck with an open neckline. For an adventurous evening look, wear your turtleneck underneath a J.Lo-esque dress with a plunging neckline and finish with a statement necklace, as seen at Vena Cava. We're glad the designers are taking note of this crucial winter style strategy.
