Figs — delicious, sweet figs — are one of our favorite earthly treats. Just look at what you can do with them (okay, with figs and a steady hand, for slicing and arranging the fruit.) Blogger Laicie of A Thousand Threads whipped up this beautiful fall dessert and documented it on her site, and we were instantly drawn to the gorgeous photos. The from-scratch rosemary-cornmeal crust and lemon mascarpone filling can be made in advance, so you can spread the prep out over a day or so if you're a little timid when it comes to baking.
