By the time the calendar flips over to September the fashion world is in a frenzy gearing up for the marathon of events associated with Fashion Week. This year we'll have an excuse to lean back and catch a movie since fashion's invaded that field as well. Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan opens at the Venice Film Festival September 1. The amazingly talented Mulleavy sisters Kate and Laura of Rodarte designed the costumes for the movie's entire corp of ballet dancers. In the flick, Natalie Portman plays a ballerina with some stiff competition from Mila Kunis' character and the relationship between the two gets a little twisted. Whatever twists and turns the plot takes we're sure all eyes will be on the feathered beauties created by Rodarte. This may be their first try at costume design but we hope it isn't the last.
