Ready to OD on eye candy? FotoWeek DC, the annual celebration of all things photography-related, kicks off on Saturday with a benefit launch party at the Warner Theatre, and from there, it's all-photos-all-the-time until November 18. You can expect to see some amazing work, ranging from fine-art photography and photojournalism to — you guessed it — mobile phone pics.
If you're not just a spectator but also a creator, the festival brings tons of opportunities to learn new skills and get some professional feedback on your body of work. Award-winning photogs and editors conduct seminars, lectures, and portfolio reviews throughout the week to help aspiring shutterbugs take their work to the next level.

And the array of events on the schedule? It's literally mind-boggling. Some of the highlights on our to-do list: "Tomorrow We Disappear," a portrayal of the last colony of magicians and performers in New Delhi by Emmy Award-winner Joshua Cogan; aerial photos of the world's last wildernesses by George Steinmetz; and Taryn Simon's "A Living Man Declared Dead and Other Chapers I-XVIII" at the Corcoran. If that's not enough to keep you busy (and inspired) for the week, we don't know what to say.
