Meet R29’s Global Editor Connie Wang At Free People This Tuesday!

It seems like just yesterday we were stuffing our weekend bags underneath our desk and scrolling through an Instagram feed of sunny, smiley vacation photos. Sadly, winter has creeped up on us way faster than we and our wardrobes intended, and these chilly afternoons? Well, they're coming as quite the shock. While we're wondering where we stowed away that box filled with ear warmers and wool socks, the sudden decrease in temperature and sunlight does mean one incredible thing: It's time to shop!
With Thanksgiving still about a week away, the Black Friday madness and holiday shopping craziness thankfully hasn't set in yet. Lines are short, stores are stocked, customers are relaxed — and if you ask us, it's the best time to start crossing off that freshly made gift list.

That's why we're teaming up with our pals at Free People to cohost a Winter Tale holiday event at its Fifth Avenue store next Tuesday, November 13, from 5-8 p.m. Bonus: Our very own global editor and fashion life coach, Connie Wang, is set to curate an in-store shop for the occasion and will be on hand to answer any of your pertinent style questions. With a super-special FP gift shop to put you in the winter mind-set, a performance by Brooklyn songstress Alexandra Stewart to set the mood, and a photo booth where one simple snapshot can garner a Free People stocking full o' goodies, this holiday soirée is rewarding the early bird in all of you, big time.
And, if you're still not sure which sweater to choose for your brother's too-cool girlfriend, you can mull it over while sipping on warm hot cider from Art in the Age and nibbling on yummies, like organic vegan cinnamon buns from Clementine bakery and vegan marshmallows from Sweet and Sara. (Trust us — there won't be fresh-baked goods when you're making your last-minute purchases at that big-box store with hours to spare.)
So, grab your friends, clear your calendars, and be sure to RSVP on Free People's Facebook page to make sure you can get in. Can't make it? Get your fill of Connie's hand-selected goodies online, anytime. Between Mason Jar lanterns for Mom, stone necklaces for Grams, and a moonstone ring for your picky cousin, bing, bang, boom — you're set for the season.
