This Is Our Jam: French Films, “Latter Days”

"Big in Finland" may not have the same ring as "big in Japan," but Finnish quintet French Films is holding it down for Scandinavia with some serious post-punk attitude. New single "Latter Days" from its upcoming sophomore LP, White Orchid, begins with a tight bassline and ominous vocals before the organ hits, and an anthemic pop chorus rises from the darkness.

The video does a nice job mirroring the song's classically murky punk aesthetic, with lo-fi footage of the band exuding leather-clad retro cool, as it hangs out, jumps in the snow, and plays what looks like a righteous house show. Look for the band on tour later this year when it comes to American shores for the first time.
