It's got a minimalist creative aesthetic, cool-girl cred, and some seriously lust-worthy clothes: There’s no question about it, & Other Stories is about to be a fashion game-changer when the H&M sister brand hops stateside to New York City next month. And, the Stockholm retailer is bringing some of our biggest style crushes along with it.
We’ve already told you about how Swedish songbird Lykke Li and stylist Ada Kokosar have lent their fashion expertise to the brand, doing everything from creating capsule lines to styling displays. Next up, it’s Garance Dore’s turn. The French-bred, New York-based photographer and illustrator has won a major following for capturing surprising city inspiration on her blog — and she’s using this talent to celebrate the Soho shop’s grand opening.
Dore has photographed pieces from & Other Stories collections, like a pleated color-blocked purse, and juxtaposed them with everyday NYC sights, like all-too-familar buses and subway stairs. The result is an unexpected mashup that morphs those seemingly mundane urban moments into your daily uniform. Want to try it on yourself? Follow @otherstories on Instagram to see Dore’s awesome images, and mark your calendar — the Manhattan outpost opens October 17!
