Giles Deacon Might Have The DIY Solution To Your Holiday Wardrobe Woes

God bless Giles Deacon and SHOWStudio. We really mean it. The bespectacled designer is the latest talent to collaborate with the online platform as part of its Design Download initiative.
The mission is simple: offering up the garment patterns of iconic pieces for online download, with the aim of giving an insight into the design process. Since 2002, SHOWStudio has shared patterns from Alexander McQueen, Yohji Yamamoto, Junya Watanabe, Gareth Pugh, Stephen Jones, Martin Margiela, John Galliano and Antony Price, so if you've been paying attention over the years, you might already have quite the designer wardrobe on your hands.

Deacon marks the ninth instalment with a design from his fall '07, the Troubador dress, which was worn on the runway by Lara Stone, no less.
Although we applaud the concept of democratising design, we're seeing a much more immediate benefit to this initiative: A designer dress that's (almost) free, and just in time for Christmas. Now, if we could just acquire some heavy silk and the ability to sew.
