Paris may be known as the City of Lights, but we think New York City has a certain nocturnal je ne sais quoi about it, too, and it seems like The Illuminating Engineering Society thinks so too. We're suckers for anything sparkly, bright, or eye-catching, which is why when we opened our daily Manhattan User's Guide and heard word of the Nightseeing Map, we knew we had to check it out. A fresh twist on the run-of-the-mill travel guides, the Nightseeing Map showcases "the most spectacular lighting designs of NYC," and the lighting designers responsible. All the usual suspects are there, but some unexpected buildings as well—JFK International's Arrival Terminal 4, for one—as well as museums, hotels, stores, and even synagogues.
