When we got word that The Spa at The Sports Club/LA on Market Street had launched a mini-program of S.F. wine country-inspired spa treatments, it obviously took lots and lots of arm-twisting in order for us to cave in and give one of the sessions a whirl. We just wouldn't be responsible journalists if we hadn't...especially when there is such a locavore bent to the whole thing. So really, we did it for you.
The lowdown: Now through March, guests can head to the downtown spa and choose from a duo of vino-infused treatments. There's an Indulgent Grape Body Wrap (which we thought it only right to indulge in) and a Champagne Facial.

The first treatment is sort of an amazing massage and scrub-down rolled into one thanks to a grape-seed exfoliant that is rubbed into your body by an expert masseuse, followed by a grape-seed oil mask. Then you're wrapped up in mylar, allowing all those antioxidants to soak into your skin. We especially liked the extra neck and foot massage that gets thrown in while you're cocooned like a butterfly for about 15 minutes.
The facial, on the other hand, utilizes a custom-blended crushed grape serum that's massaged into your skin, coupled with a Champagne mask, which purportedly leaves the face glowing from all of those antioxidant- and polyphenol-laden grapes. Oh the fruit of the gods, we do adore you so.
Thinking that taking one of these babies for a test-drive might also be your duty as a San Franciscan? Note that the 50-minute treatments will set you back $99 and the 80-minute sessions $120. Do we smell a fruity Valentine's Day gift on the horizon? We thought so.
