Just as all sneakers are not created equal in the eyes of the true aficionado, there is also a canon of fitted hats that prizes limited availability and creative coloring. Hall of Fame, a one-month-old boutique on L.A's Fairfax Avenue, houses only the crème de la crème of stiff-brimmed lids in a museum-quality environment.
The brainchild of Kendo owners Vladimir Borges and Arsen Salatinjants and Situationormal owner and designer Greg Johnsen, the store fills a crucial void in the boutique market. The fitted cap is part of the holy trifecta of streetwear (kicks/tee/fitted) and up until now the only piece without a genuine shrine for the true believers. "My partners and I simply wanted to do something new and exciting," Vlad recollects. "We've tried to create a place where guys can come and cop fitted caps." They're sure to come, not only to buy hats but to show all the reverence befitting a genuine Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame, 449 N. Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles; 323-655-6002. For more information, go to www.halloffameltd.com
As the name would have you believe, Hall of Fame is not your ordinary baseball cap store, in Los Angeles or anywhere else for that matter.
