It seems like the helm at Dior is covered in cooties or something, as designer after designer seem to have turned down the seemingly coveted position. Now, Raf Simons, creative director at Jil Sander, is being seriously considered for the position. However, Raf taking the Dior spot must mean he severs his contract with Jil Sander (which was just extended). It seems like Raf is a pretty hot commodity, too; WWD reports that he has also been vetted by Yves Saint Laurent, who shares many of Raf's minimalist angle (albeit, with a huge helping of sex). Can Raf take his menswear-inspired sensibilities and translate it to Dior's sweeping, lady-like maximalism? What do you think — will Raf rock it at Dior, or is he a better fit for Jil Sander? (WWD)
