"Ever since I spent a couple of years in London going to grad school, I have developed an insatiable affection for button-down cardigans. Before those dark and damp days spent sipping tea between study sessions, I can honestly say that the cardigan was not a staple in my wardrobe.
"Yet, as I slowly but surely adapted to my surroundings, I not only began to apologize profusely when navigating my way through the tube (such is the duty of a self-deprecating Londonite!), I also became the proud owner of a number of warm (and rather civilized) cardigans.

"Now, back in New York City, the temperatures prematurely drop and usher in unseasonal snow storms and the cardigans have been cycled back into use! I love this Prada mustard yellow cardi from TantesHaus (a new designer resale site I have been modeling for) because of where it came from and it's amazing quality. I am a HUGE supporter of 'second life cycle' fashion. You get to scoop up awesome designer pieces that could otherwise go to the landfill, and at a fraction of the price of new retail!
"This cashmere cardi is such a treat, because it is very well made with the highest grade cashmere and was totally affordable! Working in the fashion industry is rough some times because you are expected to have an ever-changing wardrobe which can be very costly. But when you join in the clothes swap cycle (as I like to call it) by bringing your pieces to resellers and purchasing other resale pieces, you can fuel a self supporting wardrobe that changes with the seasons. That is a key trick to my continuous supply of fresh fashion that I showcase on my blog.
"The Prada cardi is one of my all time favorite resale steals! I like to wear it tucked into a high-waisted skirt with a lightweight blouse for a lady luxe look fit for wandering around Bergdorf's and lusting after their stationary and book collection on the top floor.
"On days when I am below 14th Street and running errands around SoHo (which usually includes a side trip to Baby Cakes for a gluten-free cupcake), I pair it with an oversized tee, leggings, boots and a leather jacket. That is what I love about my v-neck cardi- it is versatile and always a stylish layer I am grateful to have with me, and I know that my purchasing it gave it a second home to a very grateful owner."
