Stylist Ian Bradley Hopes To Mix Vans & Comme des Garçons When He’s 80

Ian Bradley, Stylist, Doorman
It's not easy being fly, but, for stylist Ian Bradley, it's — well — a walk in the park. When he's not dressing ladies like Solange and Azealia, he's the dangerously handsome, award-winning doorman at Le Bain. Yep, it's a thing.
Though the TLC-loving stylist grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., New York City is now his stomping ground, and it's definitely influenced his personal style. He lives in soft tees and a vintage, Levi's denim jacket (his favorite), but he isn't afraid to mix it up with mesh tanks and crop tops in the summer. Because, really, where else could you wear midriff-baring tops without a second thought?

Read on to learn more about Bradley's summer uniform, favorite big-ticket item, and dream wardrobe for when he hits 80.

Describe your style in six words or less.
"Casual. Sporty. Chill. Fun. Whatever."

What's your definitive, summer go-to outfit that makes you feel the happiest?
"Pocket T-shirt, cutoff jean shorts, and Nike high tops."

What's your boldest summer-style move that you wouldn't attempt any other time of the year?
"Last year I experimented with mesh tank tops, this summer I'm thinking crop tops…getting gayer by the summer."

Tell us about some of the actual dressing difficulties you've had to overcome.
"Well, I'm a 'sweater,' and I love to layer. So, during the summer, I have to leave that last layer at home. It's something I struggle with all summer."

What was your first major, big-ticket style purchase?
"A Dior Homme tank top from the Hedi Slimane era…It was an essential item for every twink at Misshapes at the time."

What’s that one piece in your closet you could never, ever part with?
"Levi's vintage jean jacket — found it thrifting in tenth grade, and it's still my favorite article of clothing."

How would you dress if you were 80 years old today?
"When you're older, I feel like you can wear whatever you want. I would wear a mix of crazy Comme des Garçon suits, vintage denim, and Vans sneakers."
