In Bloom: As Sexy As Garters, Bloomers Are Fast Becoming A Style-Star Essential

Bloomers1
There's no question vintage-style lingerie is having a renaissance. Just look at Galliano's fantastical peek-a-boo couture collection. While we're already scouring for some nude-colored garters, a silky pair of bloomers just happens to be next on our list. We agree, the name for these stylish summer shorts is a little granny. But don't let the 1850s lingo throw you. Designers like Elizabeth and James and Opening Ceremony are dusting off their design archives to bring us a re-imagined version of the Victorian-era under-thing, a chic, baggy lingerie bottom that narrows at the cuff. As daring as they are demure, get ready to slip these bloomers under a little skirt or wear them solo for a day-time pin-up sort of look.
